The story follows Claudia, a young art restorer who is struggling financially and depends heavily on her grandmother’s pension to keep her business afloat. When her beloved grandmother suddenly passes away, Claudia finds herself facing a serious problem: without the pension payments, she may lose everything she has worked for. Desperate and unsure of what to do, Claudia and her friends come up with an outrageous plan — hide Grandma’s death and keep collecting the pension.
Things become even more complicated when Simone, an honest but somewhat awkward government tax investigator, begins looking into Claudia’s finances. While he is determined to uncover the truth, he also becomes increasingly attracted to her, creating a hilarious mix of romance, suspicion, and close calls.
As Claudia tries to keep her secret hidden, one ridiculous situation leads to another, turning what began as a desperate financial decision into a fast-moving comedy filled with surprises. With its playful humor, charming characters, and distinctly Italian style, Let’s Put Grandma in the Freezer is a lighthearted and entertaining film about love, money, friendship, and just how far someone might go when life does not go according to plan.
But as always, the evening is about more than the film.
It’s about gathering together sharing a meal, enjoying a glass of wine, and connecting with friends, both old and new, in a setting that feels like home.
