An Evening of Laughter, Community, and Italian Spirit

Join us for another unforgettable evening of Italian Cinema at NIAF—where great films meet great company.

This month, we’re featuring-Quo Vado (Where Am I Going)-With English Subtitles

The film follows Checco, a man who has achieved what he considers the perfect life: a secure government job, very little responsibility, and all the benefits that come with public employment. He is completely content with his comfortable routine and has no desire to change a thing.

Everything changes when the government begins cutting unnecessary positions and Checco is faced with an impossible choice: accept a severance package and give up his cherished permanent job or keep his position and agree to increasingly difficult transfers. Determined to hold onto his job at all costs, Checco refuses to resign, even as he is sent farther and farther from home.

His journey takes him well beyond his familiar Italian surroundings and eventually into some of the most unexpected places imaginable. Along the way, he meets new people, experiences different cultures, and finds himself questioning the lifestyle and priorities he once thought were so important.

Filled with sharp humor, outrageous situations, and plenty of Italian personality, Quo Vado? playfully pokes fun at bureaucracy, job security, cultural stereotypes, and the lengths people will go to avoid change. Beneath the comedy, the film also offers a surprisingly warm story about personal growth, relationships, and discovering that sometimes the life we fight hardest to protect is not necessarily the life that makes us happiest.

But as always, the evening is about more than the film.

It’s about gathering together sharing a meal, enjoying a glass of wine, and connecting with friends, both old and new, in a setting that feels like home.
