Join us for another unforgettable evening of Italian Cinema at NIAF—where great films meet great company.

This month, we’re featuring-Io Non Ho Paura (I am Not Scared)-With English Subtitles

A gripping Italian drama set during a scorching summer in a small, isolated village in southern Italy. The story follows nine-year-old Michele, who spends his days riding his bicycle and exploring the countryside with a group of local children. During one of their adventures, Michele stumbles upon an abandoned house and makes a shocking discovery — a young boy being held captive in a hidden hole in the ground.

Confused and frightened by what he has found, Michele begins secretly returning to the site, bringing the boy food, water, and companionship. As their connection grows, Michele starts asking questions and slowly realizes that the mystery may be much closer to home than he ever imagined. The adults in his village seem to know more than they are willing to reveal, forcing Michele to confront a world of secrets, betrayal, and danger that he never knew existed.

As the truth begins to unfold, Michele must decide whether to remain silent or risk everything to help someone in desperate need. His journey becomes a powerful test of courage, compassion, and the difference between right and wrong.

Set against the breathtaking landscape of rural Italy, I’m Not Scared combines suspense, mystery, and heartfelt emotion while exploring the loss of childhood innocence and the bravery of one young boy willing to stand up for what he believes is right. It is a beautifully filmed and thought-provoking story that will keep you engaged from beginning to end.
